Create an account

This document describes how the process for creating an account for kmdr. Accounts enable you to browse your command history, save commands to your cheatsheet and share commands with their definitions via embed or url.

Prerequisite

  • None

Log in using the kmdr web app

kmdr uses an email-based, passwordless authentication for logging in. Logging in via the kmdr web application will log you in to the browser extension.

Go to app.kmdr.sh and enter your email address where prompted

Check your email inbox and click on the link provided in the email from kmdr. You will have 10 minutes to authenticate before the link expires and you are required to re-enter your email to receive a new link.



Set up your account

There are three steps to complete as part of the account set-up.

Step 1: Account information

Your email will be pre-filled.

  1. Enter your choice of username and any other information you would like to record.
  2. Click theInstall Clients button



Step 2: Install Clients



The buttons on the Install Clients page will direct you to the Chrome store to help you Get started with extension or to the Get started with kmdr-cli documentation.

Once you have completed installation or if you do not wish to install a second client at this time, click theRun a query button.



Step 3: Run your first query

You can use the code snippet provided on this page to explain your first command. Follow the directions on the page to use your installed client. Once you have explained your first command, click the I'm ready! button to go to your command history.

Now that you have set up your account, you can use the web application to browse your command history, save commands to your cheatsheet and share commands with their definitions via embed or url.
