Get started with extension

This document describes how to install and sign in to the Kmdr browser extension. When complete, Kmdr lets you inspect Bash, CSS, and HTML code blocks and provide Quick Info for each attribute of a CLI command, a CSS property, or an HTML element right where you find the code.

Prerequisites

  • Install the Chrome browser.

Add the extension to your browser

Go to the Chrome Web Store offering of Kmdr and click on the Add to Chrome button.

Log in using the Kmdr Web App

Logging in via the Kmdr web application will log you in to the browser extension. Kmdr uses an email-based, passwordless authentication for logging in.

Go to app.kmdr.sh and enter your email address where prompted

Check your email inbox and click on the link provided in the email from Kmdr. You will have 10 minutes to authenticate before the link expires and you are required to re-enter your email to receive a new link.

You will now be able to run queries using the Kmdr browser extension. We highly recommend that you Create an account. Accounts enable you to customize settings and take advantage of upcoming feature releases.
